On Your Bike, Malaysia!

Kuala Lumpur, 12 July 2011 - Spectrum Worldwide and OCBC Bank today announced the launch of Malaysia’s first non-professional mass participation cycling event on closed public roads - OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2011. The event, which caters for every level of cyclist from beginner to professional, will be held in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and will take place on 14 - 16 October.
Mr. Chris Robb, the Managing Director of Spectrum Worldwide, said, “I am thrilled that we will be bringing one of the largest cycling events in Southeast Asia to Kuala Lumpur, to the very heart of Malaysia.”
OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2011 will have something for everyone, with four distance categories ranging from the 48km Challenge to the 100m Tricycle Ride for toddlers. Riders will flag off from Dataran Merdeka on a route that will take them past iconic landmarks such as the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Petronas Twin Towers, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Train Station, and the National Mosque.
OCBC Cycle Malaysia 2011 kicks off following three highly successful events in Singapore; the recently concluded OCBC Cycle Singapore 2011 in March recorded a staggering 10,000 participants and thousands in charity contributions.
