A Record Breaking Result

Organizers of the Mothers Day Classic, Women in Super, are thrilled to announce that this year’s event has raised an incredible $1.2 million for breast cancer research. The amount is the highest ever in the event’s 11 year history. The funds will go towards the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s (NBCF) research into the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer.

Sydney’s Domain event attracted 8700 participants. Families and friends joined together to walk or run the spectacular route through the Botanical Gardens. Among the participants were National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) Patron Sarah Murdoch and her Mum Carol O’Hare, Minister for the Status of Women Tanya Plibersek and former Olympic athlete Melinda Gainsford-Taylor. The Parramatta event has grown considerably since it commenced last year, with over 3,000 people in attendance. Participants joined Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovik, NBCF Ambassadors and co-hosts of The Today Show, as they put their best foot forward with family and friends on Mother’s Day.
