15 April, 2009, Singapore - Spectrum Worldwide announced today that OCBC Bank will return as title sponsor for the 2010 edition of OCBC Cycle Singapore. More than 5,400 riders took to the streets for the inaugural event in February this year and organisers hope to build on this success to attract even more entries next year.

Chris Robb, Managing Director of Spectrum Worldwide, said, "We are delighted that OCBC Bank has confirmed its commitment as title sponsor for OCBC Cycle Singapore 2010. Our inaugural event was extremely well received by both our local cyclists and visiting professional riders. Cycling is a growing sport in Singapore and we will continue to work with OCBC Bank to develop and establish an even bigger and better event for all ages and abilities. It is our hope for OCBC Cycle Singapore to become a permanent fixture on the local sporting calendar."

This year's events started and finished at the F1 Pit Building, where cyclists and spectators were treated to a carnival complete with music, live commentary and the OCBC Cycle Singapore Expo. The day began at 6am with the 50km Super Challenge followed by the 40km Challenge, 20km Community Ride, 5km Mighty Savers TM Kids Race for over 400 young enthusiasts, a Men's Open Criterium and a Masters' Criterium.

The day ended with 60 professional cyclists from around the world saddled up for the Elite (professional) criterium which was won in a sprint finish by David Pell of Australia and closely followed by Alan Marangoni of Italy and Ricardo Van der Velde of the Netherlands in second and third places respectively.

The date and more details of the 2010 event will be announced in the coming months. Organisers are working to secure further sponsorship and finalise plans for the race categories and format of the day, which will once again take riders onto fully closed roads around the city.
